Tips for Success!

Struggling to Lose Weight or Inches?  Here are some tips to help you get going.  While many of these are great tips for a healthy lifestyle, most of us came to Plexus because we’ve had trouble consistently living a healthy lifestyle.  Plexus isn’t a magic pill, but it should help you make better decisions and lead you towards your health and weight loss goals.  As Plexus works to make you healthy from the inside, you should start to see the results on the outside.

Troubleshooting Tips:

1.      Test for Candida.  A Candida overgrowth will seriously inhibit weight loss and will have you craving carbs and sugar.  Treat with ProBio 5.
2.      Test for Candida!  Yes, it’s that important.
3.      Quantify your water intake.  “A lot” means different things to different people.  You should drink half your weight in ounces (i.e. 75 oz if you weigh 150 lbs).  Too much or too little will inhibit weight loss and not allow Plexus to do its thing.  If you don’t know if you are getting enough, you probably aren’t.  Dehydration feels like hunger, so reach for water instead of snacks.
4.      Take a look at your Plexus Regimen.  If it’s not working, make sure you’re following the directions.  If you’re already following them, then change your regimen up a bit (e.g. drink it around lunchtime instead of breakfast)
a.       Mix the Plexus Slim with 12 oz of water and drink it BEFORE breakfast.  If taking the Accelerator+, then drink Plexus Slim and take 2 Accelerator+ pills together AFTER breakfast.
b.      Take 2 X Factor pills with Plexus Slim
c.       Take 2 Bio Cleanse pills in between meals, up to 6 pills per day. 
d.      Take 1 ProBio 5 pill in the evening before bed. 
5.      Do not drink too much of anything either right before or right after taking your Plexus Slim.  You will dilute it too much, rendering it ineffective.  Ideally, it should be with 8-12 oz of water.
6.      Coffee, sodas and alcohol dehydrate.  You will need to drink additional water on a 1 to 1 basis in order to counteract their affects.
7.      If you are having late day hunger then take your slim after you have lunch to help curb that appetite or consider taking one in the morning and one at night.
8.      If you are not getting the extended energy from the Accelerator then you need to take 1 in the morning when you eat and the other 1 after lunch.
9.      Try taking the Accelerator+ with Hot Water (temperature similar to hot tea).  Many people have seen better results taking it this way.
10.  Make sure you are eating enough.  If you're eating under 1200 calories, your body will think it's in starvation mode and will store fat.  Know your target calories for weight loss.  There are many websites that will calculate your target for your goals. I recommend using an app like my fitness pal to track them.
11.  Track your results.  Measure in addition to weighing once a week.  Pick the same day/time every week and record your findings. Don't do anymore than that or you will get discouraged.  We all fluctuate a few pounds of fluid/waste everyday. Also, you may be losing inches without the scale moving. 
12.  Make sure you are having a BM on a regular basis...preferably one a day.  Aim for 30 grams of fiber everyday!  If not, add the Bio Cleanse.  It will cleanse the digestive tract and help your digestive system run efficiently in addition to many other health benefits.
13.  Never skip breakfast!  Drink a protein shake or eat an egg and piece of whole grain toast in order to jump start your metabolism EVERY day.
14.  Having snacks (or small meals throughout the day) is a great way to speed up your metabolism.  Be mindful of the snacks you choose.  Go for an apple and cheese stick over a bag of Doritos.  Healthy snacking is great for weight loss! Mindless junk food snacking will sabotage your progress.
15.  Cut back on refined carbohydrates and focus on a diet high in lean protein, complex carbs, and lots of vegetables and fruit.  Most dietitians recommend getting at least 60 grams of protein a day (80 for men) and no more than 45gms of carbohydrates per day when you are trying to lose weight.
16.  Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.
17.  Reduce your sodium intake.  Sodium will cause you to retain water. (Salty snacks, processed meats, etc)
18.  Increase your probiotics.   Take the Pro Bio 5, 2 in the morning and 2 before bed OR 3-4 before bed.
19.  Make sure you are getting enough good sleep every night. 
20.  Make it a rule not to have any calories after 8pm...earlier if you can.
21.  Move more!  Exercise helps you in too many positive ways to list.  Start slow and increase as you can.  Any movement is better than no movement.  And don't forget to lift some weight/tone your muscles.  The more muscle mass you have the more calories your body will burn.  It doesn't have to be heavy weight either.  Just buy some 5 or 10lb dumbbells and get to work :)
22.  Are you taking any medications?  Search the condition specific Plexus Facebook groups for feedback from others with the same condition/medication.  Some medications will hinder weight loss.

If you have tried all this for 60 days or more and are truly eating at least 1200 calories a day, I recommend seeing a doctor to have your thyroid and hormones assessed.  Chemical imbalances can alter your metabolism and make weight loss extremely difficult.  The plexus products can and will still help you, however, the process will likely take much longer.  Be patient.  The weight did not come on over night and it won't come off overnight.
